One-to-one Tutoring Terms & Conditions
Initial Meeting
Each new student is offered a free 20-minute Zoom meeting that they can attend with parents. This allows me to assess the student's level, discuss goals, and answer any questions before lessons begin.
Lesson Format
- All lessons are conducted via Zoom, using tools such as Bitpaper.
- A working camera and microphone are required for active participation.
- Students will be encouraged to engage, write, and interact with content on screen.
What's Included in the Lesson Fee
- Planning and preparation
- Live lesson delivery
- Practice tasks based on each lesson
- Feedback to parents (via email or five-minute chat at the end of the lesson)
Scheduling & Fees
- Lessons are charged per hour. Longer sessions can be arranged but are billed at the same hourly rate.
- Regular lesson times are confirmed after the initial meeting.
- Invoices are issued monthly on the 1st of the month following lesson delivery. e.g. invoices issued 1st October for lessons deliverered in September.
- If a payment is outstanding, future lessons may be paused until payment is received.
- If you need to reschedule a regular lesson time, please notify me as early as possible so I have time to rearrange my schedule.
Additional Communication
Extra support between lessons (e.g., school work feedback) may incur an additional charge, assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Cancellations
- At least 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson, or the full fee will be charged.
- In case of illness, I will try to offer an alternative slot but cannot guarantee availability.
- If a lesson is cancelled with notice, I can provide a short video covering the missed content.
- For 'no shows' without notice, lesson will be charged in full and video follow-ups are not guaranteed.
- If I need to cancel a lesson, I will inform you as soon as possible and offer alternative times.
